Colorado Springs family portraits: The C family!

[ Colorado Springs family portrait photographer ]

I first photographed W when he was only four days old. How time flies. Last Thursday was his first birthday! We took these family pictures a couple of weekends ago, just in time for the peak of fall color. W was already walking and it was so cute. A little wobbly, maybe, but getting better at it every day. Happy birthday W, you're already a ladykiller!

I absolutely love the expression on his face in this one. Adorable.

The official first year portrait. What a big boy!

And here he is at four days old. What a difference a year makes :o)

Colorado Springs engagement portraits: Alex & Rick

[ Engagement portraits in Colorado Springs ]

Alex and Rick are having their wedding right around Christmastime at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. We did their engagement portraits a couple of weeks ago in Cheyenne CaƱon on a beautiful, warm fall day. It was a lot of fun. Even the dogs got into it!

I got exactly three decent pictures with the dogs, Athena and Lady, and exactly one of those had everyone looking my way. Ha! It was worth the effort -- what a great portrait :o)

Cheyenne Canon is so beautiful! They ordered a large print of this one. It's going to look great in their home!

Jillian & Jack's Briarhurst Manor wedding

[ Colorado Springs wedding photographers ]

This is my gorgeous friend Jillian's wedding at the Briarhurst Manor, and I was so flattered to be the lucky photographer who got to document it. It was a perfect October day, sunny and golden, and everyone had a great time. Jillian looked so beautiful! Congrats Jack and Jillian, it was a dream day!

Jillian's nieces were the flower girls. I love how this one had a litte mini bouquet. And if you look closely you'll see that her fingernails are painted red. A girl after my own heart!

The ceremony begins!

Jillian's son, Connor, served as ring bearer. He did a great job!

Moments after the ceremony.

I looooooove this image of Jillian! I think she looks so serene and regal!

Jillian has the most beautiful eyes.

Colorado Springs portrait photography: Andi's mini session

[ Colorado Springs portrait photography ]

This is Andi, who took advantage of my portrait special mini-sessions that I've been doing over the last couple of weekends. I've had the pleasure of photographing her a few times over the last three years (she's a regular!) and I'm always amazed at her perfect complexion, hazel eyes, and that glorious head of hair. Andi recently lost some weight and wanted some fabulous portraits to celebrate. But shhhhh! They're a Christmas surprise for her boyfriend! (Sorry fellas, she's off the market!)

Denver wedding photographer: Margarita & Manuel's backyard fiesta

[ Denver wedding photographers ]

Here's a wedding that I second shot in September for a photographer friend out of Boulder, Steve. I enjoy second shooting because it gives me the opportunity to get as creative as I want to without the pressure of being the primary shooter.

Margarita and Manuel's backyard fiesta was quite an event! She's Chilean and he's Mexican, and the blending of cultures resulted in an extremely colorful AND flavorful party (as in delicious food!). Toss in a little Burning Man culture and some salsa music, and you've got a seriously great party!

Family and friends helped 100% with the setup and decorating for the reception. Early in the day I noticed this "to do" list tucked in the back pocket of one of the helpers.

A nervous looking Manuel.

Margarita's tiny nephew was the ring bearer.

Margarita about to round the corner and greet her groom. She looks so excited!

His expression upon seeing her :o)

Trust me when I say Manuel is a man of very few words. His happy expression in this moment spoke for him.

This is the moment when Margarita's father saw her for the first time in her wedding finery. He looks so emotional -- I love it.

The wedding ceremony took place at Rockland Community Church in Genessee, near Golden.

Catching Manuel's eye at the top of the aisle.

Beautiful bride!

What a cool bouquet! Love the peacock feathers!

Their getaway car was a vintage Camaro owned (and chauffeured) by a friend.

Cruising down I-70.

Posing for Steve's camera.

Kind of a cool location for portraits, no?

Loved the table decor!

As the sun went down, the mariachi band kicked into full swing. They were awesome.

Margarita is really into Burning Man, thus there were tents all over the property with a "burner" theme and exotic lighting. There was even a dome (you burners out there know what I'm talking about). This is their wedding cake in its own special tent.
