Kate and Mark's Vail wedding

[ Vail wedding photographer ]

What a perfect, perfect day! Kate and Mark chose to hold their wedding in Vail because it's a town that's close to Mark's heart (and now Kate's a convert!). The ceremony was held at Piney River Ranch, and their wedding reception was at the Donovan Pavilion. We had a perfect, Colorado mountain day -- blue skies, sunshine. Gorgeous scenery, gorgeous bride, handsome groom. Fabulous!

Wedding ceremony venue: Piney River Ranch
Wedding reception venue: Donovan Pavilion
Bride's gown: Pronovias
Bride's shoes: Kate Spade
Bridesmaids' attire: Dessy
Men's attire: Geoffrey Beene
Hair and Makeup: Posh! Hair Salon
Wedding Cakes: Mountain Flour
Cake toppers: Simply Sweet Desserts
Floral design: Bouquets (Beaver Creek)
Event planning: Ashley Baber Weddings
Catering: Whirled Peas
Music: A Great Time DJ

Kate wore a fabulous Pronovias gown.

Love love love the Kate Spade shoes!

Kate's dad escorting her down the aisle.

The "flower girl", Izzy.

As we were taking the formal group portraits, a tree several yards away cracked in two and fell to the ground with a resounding thud. So that answers the eternal question, "If a tree falls in the woods..." I can tell you that 21 people heard it! ;o)

Adorable cake topper from Simply Sweet Desserts.

Everyone got a carabiner as a memento of their time in Colorado.

I really enjoy doing weddings at Donovan Pavilion. It's a great place for a party!

A funny toast from Kate's mom...

and a dance with Dad.

Last shot of the night, by special request of the wedding planner, Ashley Baber.

Chad's senior portraits

[ Senior pictures in Colorado Springs ]

Here's Chad, a really great kid. Straight A's, a total brain, football star, motocross fanatic. Oh and he's nice! We did his senior portraits around Colorado Springs a couple of weekends ago, and he brought his snowboard and dirtbike with him to pose with. I love that we got some dramatic light at the end of our session, it made the pictures even cooler.

Leo turns one!

[ Colorado Springs portrait studio ]

Behold Leo on his very first birthday! I've been documenting his entire first year, and was so happy to be able to work in his official first birthday portraits on the actual day. It's only been a few short months but I barely recognized him, he's grown so much! Leo really went for it with the cake smash -- he was covered in frosting by the end. What a cute little guy!

Getting good pictures of this active one-year old was like catching the proverbial lightning in a bottle. Leo definitely made me work for it! Here he is flirting for the camera ;o)

Let the madness begin...

Jackson Pollock would have been proud of Leo's purple interpretation of his first birthday.

Alas, time to clean off the mess. Leo didn't seem too bummed about it. Turns out he loves hanging out in the sink as much as he loves purple frosting.
