Colorado Springs maternity portraits: a baby for Tania & Matt

[ Colorado Springs portrait photography ]

Matt and Tania are expecting their first baby any day now. We did these portraits last week, on a day that alternated between blindingly sunny and soft cloud cover. Some were done in the studio, but we quickly moved outdoors to Monument Valley Park, one of my favorite locations. Just look at these two -- they are going to have a beautiful baby!

I love this picture!

I love this one too -- I think it may be my favorite of the day.

Tania has the most mesmerizing eyes of anyone I've ever met.

Rachael & Jeff's Colorado Springs wedding

[ Colorado Springs wedding photographer ]

There's something about a backyard wedding that I love. Maybe it's the idea of getting married at home. Rachael and Jeff literally remodeled their house and landscaped their yard in preparation for their sweet backyard nuptials on Memorial Day weekend. It was a truly great day and lots of fun for me to document. Rachael and Jeff, congratulations!

Bride's gown: Black Label by Cara Helena, at Bridal Elegance
Bride's shoes: Zora by Caparros, http://www.zappos.com/
Flower girls' attire: Kiki Kids, http://www.pinkprincess.com/
Tuxedo: Al's Formal Wear
Hair: Lisi at J. Gregory Salon
Makeup: Pamela Johnson at Face BodyFX
Floral Design: Rhonda Nichols
Cake: Bella Cakes
Catering: Blue Sage Catering
Tent Rental: Bruno's Party Time
Ceremony music: John Stone

Rhonda Nichols did all the floral design. I love her work!

The little girls were fascinated by the makeup application process. Adorable.

The moment when Jeff caught a glimpse of his bride walking up the aisle. Fantastic capture by my assistant Allison.

Jeff's sister officiated the ceremony.

Jeff's daughter Reagan served as the ring bearer.

Things got a little emotional during the vows. There wasn't a dry eye in the place. This shot of Reagan wiping away tears just kills me. (Another great capture by Allison.)

Rachael and Jeff live in a quiet cul-de-sac near the Broadmoor with very little traffic, so I decided to put the wedding party in the street for some fun portraits.

My good friend Sandra, who lives only a block from the newlyweds, graciously loaned us her yard for a few portraits so we could get away from the crowd. I couldn't resist a classic "Town and Country" pose in such a beautiful park-like setting.

Gorgeous summer bouquet by Rhonda Nichols!

Rachael's makeup was expertly done by Pamela Johnson of FaceBodyFX.

This wedding had so many pretty little details!

The cake was red velvet. Mmmm!

The day after...

[ Colorado Springs & Denver wedding photographer ]

Most couples have neither the time nor the inclination to break away from their wedding day festivities for a couple of hours to go to multiple locations and pose for a series of seriously rad pictures. That's why I offer Day After shoots -- a way for you to get the incredible images you want without stress and pressure of your actual wedding day. It's relaxed, fun and you don't have to worry about abandoning your guests or anything else. The resulting images can be simply amazing! Imagine a special, custom-designed album filled with images like these! Wow!
