A bridal extravaganza!

I had a booth at the Bridal Extravaganza show at the Cheyenne Mountain Conference Resort last Sunday, sponsored by RSVP Weddings. I rarely do bridal shows but I really enjoyed this one. I met a lot of great people and it was fun chatting with so many different brides about their weddings -- everyone was so excited! It was super busy but I did manage to get a few snapshots of my surroundings even though I forgot to take a picture of my own booth (can you believe that?!? d'oh!), and there was a bridal fashion show at the end of the day that I covered for Naida of RSVP Weddings. Below are a few snaps from the day...

I love the idea of a green wedding, and by that I mean the environmental friendliness of it, not the color! The tabletop design and place settings above are by Cheyenne Mountain Conference Resort (one of my favorite venues) and the floral design is by Lori at Skyway Creations.

How tragic! I forgot to take a photo of my own booth! I did get this shot of my coffee table though, with a couple of sample albums on it.

This fabulous bouquet is by Rhonda Nichols, one of the best floral designers in the region. I highly recommend her!

The fashion show featured gowns from Danelle's Bridal and Bridal Elegance, both locally owned boutiques.

I just love the way the way the hair and makeup are styled on this model. Chic! The hair and makeup for all the models was done by Chana and her crew at Exhale Day Spa and Salon.

During the middle of the fashion show, professional dancers came out to show their stuff. I am always so impressed when my couples can dance like this!

Sky Fitness

While I was in the Phoenix area I did some promo shots for Heather Lehman, owner of Sky Fitness. Heather's a personal trainer and it shows! She's lean, mean and fit. She's also one of the hardest working people I know. Actually Heather had me do some family pictures with her and her two sons later in the day, so these promo pics are just a start to a really fun day of shooting with her (I'll blog the family pics next). Heather, you look great!

Four days in the desert

Last week I had the pleasure of attending four days of photography workshops and seminars in Carefree, Arizona, a small desert town north of Phoenix. The Arizona desert in winter is really wonderful. The weather is temperate during the day (it was pretty much 70 degrees without fail) and chilly at night, and the landscape is just incredible. While I was there I managed to just take a handful of scenic photos with my little point and shoot camera -- but most of the time I was either in class with my fellow photographers or in the bar! First Glimpse Ultrasound

I've been too busy to blog! I plan on rectifying that situation RIGHT NOW, so make sure to come back over the next few days and you'll see some new stuff, starting with these images of an ultrasound in progress. The suite next door to mine is the home of First Glimpse Ultrasound, owned and operated by the lovely Shery S. (Let's hear it for women business owners!) First Glimpse specializes in 4-D ultrasounds, which gives you an image of the baby inside the womb doing baby things like moving around, sucking his/her thumb, kicking, etc. It's wild! Shery asked me to do a few promo pictures for her site, www.firstglimpseultrasound.com, and I was pretty darn amazed at what I saw. I sat in on a 20 minute session and snapped away while baby's face appeared on the monitor beside the bed. I must say, I was amazed. You really could see her little face!

Ryan loves Meghan!

Ryan and Meghan's wedding and reception took place at the Donovan Pavilion in Vail on December 19th, the Friday before Christmas. My good friend Charlotte Geary was the primary photographer and she asked me to come along as her second shooter. This wedding was just awesome in every way, even though the ceremony was held outdoors in sub-freezing temps! And Meghan and Ryan make such a cute couple. They told me that they have been together for a decade and engaged for the last five years, so it was about time they made it official!

The groomsmen kicked off the day with a little hair of the dog.

Meanwhile, Meghan was very excited to get into her wedding gown!

Meghan's brother came all the way from Iraq to escort her down the aisle and give her away. Look at Meghan's expression as she makes eye contact with Ryan.

I love her expression here during the vows.
