Rachel's Bat Mitzvah

Last weekend was huge for Rachel! Her Bat Mitzvah took place on Friday at Temple Beit Torah, followed by a killer party on Saturday night at the Broadmoor. I covered both nights and had a super time. I was very impressed by Rachel -- she was so poised and articulate, and only 13! Her parents, Rich and Jeannie, really pulled out all the stops and gave her a memorable birthday. Family and friends came from all over and the party was bumpin' all night long. What a blast! Here are some images from her big event.

This ice sculpture was a huge hit with the kids! The bartender poured bright blue punch into the top, which traveled through the ice and came out the bottom. The kids queued up!

Fusco family madness!

A few days after Christmas I had the pleasure of shooting family portraits for the Fusco clan, and what a nutty job that was! The entire family was together for the holidays, and we're talking seven adults, five kids aged six and under, and a couple of dogs -- it was crazy! On the morning of the shoot the outside temperature was only nine degrees (and only two degrees at their place!), so our plan to go to the Garden of the Gods was definitely out. We decided to shoot at the Fuscos' home instead. I did manage to get one big group shot out on the deck, we could stand the frigid temperatures just long enough for that! Then it was back inside the cozy house for a few more. It was crazy with all those kids but I had a lot of fun!

I had to post this picture of Nicki and her "baby", Bella. A face only a mother could love!

My new and improved blog!

Actually it's the same blog as before, I just changed the colors to match my new and improved site (http://www.clickphotography.net/). I spent months redesigning my website and it launched today! I figured the blog should at least be in the same color family, so I changed the background color to white and tweaked a few other minor things. You can still view all the previous posts (just click on "older posts" at the bottom of this page). Going forward, any pictures I post will have my new and improved logo on them, which looks like this:
(Meanwhile all my older posts will feature the old logo.) I'm incredibly happy to have my new site finally online. It took months to design -- a perpetual back burner project. Since this is theoretically the slowest time of year for me, I took the project off the back burner and made a big push over the last couple of weeks to just get it finished. Kim & Jason

Yet another couple who met in high school! Kim and Jason were introduced by a mutual friend at Sierra High and soon became inseparable. Just like Andi and Glenn, however, things were strictly platonic. It wasn't until years later that they reconnected, oddly enough at work! Jason serendipitously got hired on at the same company where Kim has worked for years, and this time the sparks flew. Another cool thing about this story is that I used to work there too, in a past life. I quit my job in corporate America many years ago to pursue photography full time, and Kim was one of the few people I've stayed in touch with since then. I think she's a wonderful person and she deserves this happiness! She and Jason have set the date for June 20th and I can't wait. Congrats to both of you on finding each other again!

Julie & Ian

I'm so excited to be the photographer for Julie and Ian's wedding! Julie was the maid of honor at a wedding I shot way back in January of 2003 (so long ago that it was on that ancient medium known as film, so I don't have any images to share with you here), and we hit it off so well that she proceeded to refer me to everyone she knew that was getting married. So Julie's responsible for my pictures of Heather and Ray (July 2005), and Melissa and Kyle (October 2005), and now it's her turn! I've so enjoyed working with her and Ian thus far and I can't wait for their wedding in May. Here are their engagement portraits... aren't they cute? I can't wait for the big day!

Favorite images of 2007

I sat down today and picked out my favorite images from 2007. These are the ones that really stick in my head as some of the better pictures I took last year. Some of them are technically good and others have personal meaning to me. I'll keep the chit chat to a minimum and just let the pictures do the talking.
