The C family!

This is a family with six kids ranging from age four to 18! Before you decide to pity the parents, let me tell you how much they love parenting and clearly adore every single one of their brood. I had a LOT of fun taking these portraits, so much so that when I got home from the shoot I still had a huge grin on my face! What a super family! Everyone was so nice, so cute in their own way, and so much fun to work with. Thanks guys, I can't wait for the next time!

Let's see if I can name all the kids... from left: Alex, Zack, Henry, Mary, Tess and JJ. Hey, good for me for remembering all those names!

Here's Zack. It just seemed right to have him climb a tree for his portrait. To me he looks like Huck Finn!

Mary -- she was so proud of those hot pink crocs!

Here's Henry, oh my! Look at those big hazel eyes and those dimples!

We had the most amazing light for this portrait of Tess.

Mom and dad, Tina and Mike. Can you believe this woman has had six kids?!? She looks great!

When I told the kids I wanted them to form a human pyramid, they thought I was crazy! But what a cute picture!

They ordered this composite of Mary jumping to go in her room, which is also pink. Adorable!

Mike and Tina loved this composite of all their kids. It's going to look great in their house!

They also ordered this wonderful composite to give as Christmas presents to the grandparents. What a cool gift!

The W family

This my BFF Jenn's family! There are ten of them and they're sort of scattered around the state a bit, so they don't all get together at Mom and Dad's more than once a year or so. Every now and then I take a nice casual portrait of the whole gang as the opportunity arises; I took these pictures last month. Jenn and I have been friends since about 1988 so I kind of feel like an honorary family member by now! It's so nice to hang out with the W's, they always make me feel so loved. Thanks for dinner guys. I hope you enjoy this year's portraits!

The whole family: front row -- Sami, Paula, Doug, Brent, Nicholas and Ashley; back row -- Jenn, Paulene, Brian and Renee

Doug and Paulene have this great tree on their property -- if you look closely you can see a face in that big knot.

The adult kids: Brent, Jenn, Paula and Brian

My BFF Jenn. Yes guys, she's single. And TALL.

Her brother Brian. Yes girls, he's single. And TALL.

Brent and his family: wife Renee and kids Nicholas and Ashley. This will make a nice Christmas card, don't you think?

Welcome Mia!

Here's something that's sure to put a smile on your face! Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing brand new baby Mia on her 11th day in this world. What a darling baby! Mia's parents, Elizabeth and Dan, are some of my favorite clients (see their maternity portraits here). They have signed up for my Baby's First Year program, which means I'll get to photograph Mia two more times in the coming year. I can't wait!

Here is Mia's birth announcement (above is the front of it and below is the inside), custom-designed by yours truly. Look at her cute little toes!

And here are a few pics of her sweet little face. What a cutie! I can't wait to do more!

Jordan loves Angie!

This, my friends, is a love story that started in junior high school! Angie and Jordan first met at church when they were adolescents, and though there was always mutual attraction they didn't officially become a couple until college. But, as everyone at the wedding said, "Was there ever any question?"

Their wedding and reception took place at the Briarhurst on a rainy Saturday in late September. Though it was a little chilly and drizzly out, no one seemed to mind! Rain or shine, it was great to witness these two finally tying the knot.

Wedding and reception venue: The Briarhurst Manor
Wedding gown: Mori Lee, from Something New Boutique
Bridesmaids' dresses: Bill Levkoff
Deejay: John Warren of Complete Music
Wedding cake: Boonzaaijer's

The amazing bouquets and floral decor were created by a friend of the family, Melanie Murphy.

Since they opted to do all their portraits before the ceremony, Jordan and Angie shared a little moment together first. This is his reaction upon seeing her in her dress for the first time.

Jordan's mom, Candy, greeting her soon-to-be daughter in law.

I love this image of Angie chatting with the adorable flower girl, Elli.

As I was taking their portrait, Jordan and his brother Ryan spontaneously decided to jump in the air and high five each other. It was a Mentos moment.

Angie and Jordan with their gorgeous six month-old son, Maxwell.

Mere moments before she was to walk down the aisle, Elli had a fearful reaction to the sound of thunder...

But she soon regrouped and pulled off her role with style!

Jordan's parents, Larry and Candy

I love how they brought Maxwell up there to be with them for the kiss.

Clearly the little ones couldn't wait to get their hands on the goody bags that Angie made for them!

Jordan surprised his new wife with a bagpiper.

Here's Elli showing me her great writing skills (I think it says "BPEP PER" -- pretty good for a four year-old eh!).

A little moment during the toast...

and a little moment after cutting the cake.

Just look at all the photo assistants I had that day!

Great catch!
