On Saturday, June 7th, my beautiful cousin Marianne married her longtime boyfriend, Mel. Since I couldn't attend their wedding (I was shooting Bobbi and Sean's wedding, which I'll blog next!), I gifted Marianne and Mel with a "day after" shoot. I love the concept of the day after shoot -- there's no wedding stress, no time constraints, no distractions. Just one more chance to wear your wedding dress and glam it up for the camera and get some really amazing shots. It's a great idea and every bride should do it! (You can even do a little trash the dress if you want, and make it even more fun!) It only makes sense. Your wedding images are the ones you keep for a lifetime, what you save if your house is on fire, what you show your grandchildren. Yet on a wedding day I usually only get a few minutes alone with the bride to capture those iconic images. Just think what you can do on a day after shoot!
We did Marianne and Mel's shoot at the Broadmoor, where they had held their wedding reception. Mel was feeling a little under the weather so he went home after the first half hour, but Marianne and I really went for it and took some amazing pictures. I wish I could have been there on their wedding day, but this was the next best thing! I think Marianne makes an awesome, beautiful bride, don't you?
