Welcome Tyler!

Courtney and Michael got married three years ago this month and I was lucky enough to photograph their big event, so I was tickled to receive an e-mail from her a few months ago announcing the birth of their first child, Tyler. Last month Courtney asked me to take a few pictures of their little one and I jumped at the chance. He's adorable! On top of which he's a really cheerful little guy, he didn't cry at all for the entire time I was there. He did, however, pee once, poop twice, spit up three times and drool pretty much continuously. No worries, we just worked the shoot around all the bodily fluids. Congratulations Courtney and Mike! (Mike, he looks just like you.)

Oh and by the way, one of these images is going to be in the Take 7 show, but you'll have to come to the opening this Friday to find out which one...

I love taking pictures of people's stuff. Especially baby stuff.

Michael's about 6'4" or 6'5", so it's funny to see him turn into such a big puddle of goo around his kid.

Laura & Chad

Here's a really cute couple! Laura and Chad are getting married in December. Laura's not just a client, she's a former workmate of Pat's from a couple of years ago. I'd never met her but Pat had told me how cool she was, and he was right. Laura, Chad and I took an afternoon a couple of weeks ago to sneak out to Manitou Lake and take their engagement pictures. It was a beautiful day, my favorite time of year, and the light was fantastic. We just strolled around the lake and goofed off in the sunshine for a while. They were so much fun and so down to earth, I can't wait to shoot their wedding!

Isn't Laura pretty? She's going to look great in her wedding gown!

Dana & Doug

Dana and Doug have been together for over ten years. When they finally decided to get married, Colorado Springs was their location of choice even though they live in Texas. It was a small event, just the very nearest and dearest, held in early July in the garden of Doug's sister's home. I thought it was like a little shangri-la in the heart of Colorado Springs -- all dappled sunlight and flowers everywhere. Since I was only there for three hours I didn't get a lot of reception shots, but I did capture some very sweet and heartfelt moments during the ceremony. Congratulations Dana and Doug on finally making it official!

There were lots of giggles during the ceremony.

Nolan & Avery

I really love it when my wedding clients call me back for portraits when they start having kids. It just warms the cockles of my heart. Nora and Grant got married in August of 2003, and before you knew it they had two little ones, Nolan and Avery. These kids are so stinkin' cute! And I'm not just just saying that because I'm biased. Just take a look at their sweet little faces! This shoot was a little tough because it was very hot out (June in Denver, stifling!) and Avery wasn't sure she was into this photography thing at first. But with a little patience we got some very cute moments indeed! Ahhh, childhood.

Beautiful Nora. Motherhood becomes her.

Don't you just love those two little bitty teeth? Adorable!

Amanda & Zac

Lately I've been shooting so much that I haven't had time to blog! It's catch-up time. I shot these engagement portraits of Amanda and Zac a month ago. They met in college, at Michigan State, and are such diehard Sparty fans that they actually planned their wedding around next fall's football schedule. Since Zac still lives in Michigan while he finishes grad school and Amanda lives here, they don't get to see each other very often. So they were more than happy to smooch it up for the camera!

Here's our attempt at a Calvin Klein ad.

I think this one's my favorite. There was a lot of laughing going on. What a fun shoot! And when I got home from shooting Zac and Amanda, my little neighbor across the street, Lennox, was outside playing while his dad Robert kept an eye on him. Lennox is three and he already knows that I'm the picture lady. I can never resist taking pictures of the little guy when the opportunity arises. He struck some poses on mom's Halloween yard decor while I snapped off a few frames (below). Isn't he cute?

Grace & Johan

Here's a wedding I shot with Charlotte Geary a few weeks back at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel. As second shooter I get to be second banana, a totally different perspective that I really appreciate getting from time to time! Charlotte took care of the heavy duty stuff while I tagged along and shot whatever I wanted. It was great! Grace and Johan are such a cute couple. Grace told me they've already been together about eight years, so I suppose it was about time they made it official. I really loved her dress -- it was truly original and gorgeous. I just couldn't stop taking pictures of her in that amazing dress! It was such a beautiful and sunny Colorado day, a perfect day for a wedding. BTW a couple of these images will be featured in the upcoming Take 7 show, but I'm not telling which ones -- you'll have to come to the opening to find out!

Here's Grace just a few moments before stepping out and greeting Johan for portraits before the ceremony.

Johan is clearly in awe of his bride's beauty!

The groomsmen arrive, looking cool in their tuxes

...and the maid of honor arrives with a big smile for her BFF.

Isn't Grace lovely?

In this picture Grace is actually posing for Charlotte while I snap away from off to the side. I love lens flare!

This shot was taken from way, way, WAY up in the balcony!
